Industries back on track as before lockdown

Aurangabad, Jan 16:

The condition of industries in the district, which was hit by the corona pandemic, has improved since Diwali. At present, the industry is operating at 85 to 90 per cent production capacity and the orders are back on track as before the lockdown.

Not only Aurangabad but industries all over the world were paralyzed in the lockdown. After the unlock, the industries and markets started operations. The industries upped their production during Dussehra and Diwali. The production process started at 80 to 90 per cent capacity. Meanwhile, the precautionary measures taken by the industries in Aurangabad have not affected the day-to-day operations. The recovery made by the automobile, pharmaceutical, breweries, food processing industries and the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is also satisfactory. The economic cycle of the industry is now on track. Therefore, the atmosphere of instability in the industrial sector is now coming to an end, said Mukund Kulkarni, chairman CII Marathwada Zonal Council.

Steel and plastic industries struggling

Kulkarni said that the skyrocketing prices of raw materials have created a crisis for the steel and plastic industries. The lockdown shut down domestic and foreign raw material manufacturing industries, while the demand for these raw materials skyrocketed after the lockdown. As a result, domestic as well as imported raw material prices have risen sharply.
