Aurangabad, April 26:

In a recent tele-phishing case, cyber crooks cheated a young lady of Rs 1.92 lakh under the pretext of offering her a part-
time job in a telecom company.

According to details, the complainant Shivkanya Sanjeevan Thombre (21, Wadmauli village in Kaij tehsil of Beed district)
stays in Aurangabad for education. On March 27, she came across a newspaper advertisement offering a part-time work-
from-home job with an attractive salary in a telecom company. She called up the mobile number mentioned in the
advertisement. She was assured of a job and was told to pay Rs 2,100 through PhonePe. Later on, the victim sent her
educational documents, Aadhar Card, Pan Card, and Passport Photo. The accused after receiving her documents issued a
joining letter of Reliance Company.

They also told her to pay a security deposit (online) as the company will be providing a laptop and a mobile phone to her.
After a few days, the accused told Shivkanya to pay some more money. In this way, the complainant deposited Rs 1.92
lakh in the account mentioned by frauds.

The complaint became suspicious when the accused continued to demand money from her citing one or the other reason.
She then verified the joining letter and was shocked to learn that she has been trapped in a tele-phishing racket. She
immediately approached the cyber police cell. Later, on the basis of evidence, the Mukundwadi police registered a case
against cyber crooks. Police inspector Sharad Ingle is investigating the case.
