Lady doctor ends life in Kanchanwadi ; husband and child shocked over incident

Aurangabad, April 20:

In a tragic incident, a lady doctor has committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan in her house at Grand Kalyan Society in Kanchanwadi, today morning. In her suicide note, she had clarified that nobody should be held responsible for her death. Ironically, she woke today morning, hinted her husband saying " Aaj mi zanar ahe" (Today I will be going) and then ended her life.

The deceased has been identified as Dr Priyanka Pramod Kshirsagar (27). According to details, Dr Priyanka (of Ahmednagar district) was married to Dr Pramod (of Aurangabad tehsil) in 2016. She was BAMS and her husband was MBBS. The couple was staying at Kanchanwadi and was blessed with a two and a half-year-old son Soham. Pramod was doing his doctorate in medicine (MD) course from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

It is said that Priyanka for the past many months was keeping herself aloof from others and would hardly speak to anybody. She would always tell her husband that he would have got a better wife than her. Pramod would always take it casually considering it as a joke. Pramod was a resident doctor at GMCH. He would stay awake late in the night for his MD studies and often woke up late in the morning. Hence, as usual, Pramod studied till late in the night on Monday and went to sleep. Like every day, Priyanka woke up between 6.30 am and 7 am. Soham also got woke up and went to play in the hall. Priyanka called her husband to wake up and was saying, " Today I will be going". Pramod was still in bed and thought she is telling about going to meet her parents, therefore, he again went to sleep. Later on, Priyanka went into another room and hanged herself to the ceiling fan and ended her life.

Soham started crying

Pramod got woke up when he heard Soham crying between 8.30 am and 8.45 am. He thought, his wife would be in the bathroom, but she was not there. He was shocked to see Priyanka hanging in the next bedroom. He then immediately informed the Satara police about the incident.

Police recover suicide note

Police inspector Surendra Malale, PSI Anita Fasate and others reached the spot and conducted panchanama. They recovered a suicide note. It was duly signed by Priyanka. It stated that nobody should be held responsible for her suicide. The police have seized the suicide note and shifted the body to GMCH. The police have registered a case of accidental death. PSI Vikram Wadne is investigating the case. The police said that the deceased's relatives had not registered any complaint. They guess that she would have ended her life in depression.
