Main accused Ragade took empty box from Meltron to fill MPS injections

Aurangabad, May 7:

The police arrested Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) employee Vishnu Dagdu Ragade in the Remdesivir injection black marketing case. In the police investigation, it was found that Ragade took an empty box of Remdesivir injection from the Meltron Hospital and filled it with MPS injections before supplying it to the hospital. The police have registered statements of seven persons in this regard so far, the sources said.

Ragade is the head of the AMC warehouse at Bhavaninagar. He and the contractual assistant pharmacist Pranali Sheshrao Kolhe are in the police custody in the case of stealing 48 Remdesivir injections at Jinsi police station.

PI Vyankatesh Kendre and investigation officer Sainath Gite are investigating the case thoroughly. During interrogation, Pranali told police that Ragade has stolen the injections and she does not know anything about it. On April 3, when she realized that 48 injections are less in the stock, she informed it to Ragade. He told her that he will see about it and she should not tell anyone about the injections, she told the police.

Ragade later went to Meltron Covid Centre and asked for an injection box to pharmacist Kapure there. However, he refused to give him the injection box. He then brought an empty box from the hospital. He gave the empty box to Pranali and the both of them came to the warehouse at Bhavaninagar.

On April 9, Meltron Hospital demanded for the Remdesivir injection. However, MPS injections were put in the Remdesivir empty box and supplied to the hospital.

The police have examined seven witnesses and it was clear that Ragade has stolen he injections. However, he has not informed that what he had done of these injections, the sources said.
