Man booked for sexual harassment of married woman

A man was booked with Jawaharnaga Police Station for raping a married woman in an area near Shahnoormiyan Dargah on the pretext of showing a room for rent.

According to details, the woman was living with her parents along with two children as she had differences with her husband. She went to see a room for rent with one Jaiba Gaikwad (Duttanagar, Kailasnagar) on July 3. She did not like the room. The accused called her on July 26 by telling her that he would show her another room at a low rent.

The victim went to an area near Shahnoorminya Dargah on her two-wheeler along with the accused. They entered a house that has a couple and a young child. After having juice, Gaikwad took the woman to show a room in the house. He closed the door of the room from inside and raped her. She was frightened and came out of the house.

When the complainant was going to her house, the accused informed her through the call that he had a video clip of the incident. He also threatened of tarnishing her image by making the video clip viral on social media if she discloses anything about the crime. She lodged a complaint with Jawaharnaga Police Station on Friday. Assistant police inspector Shraddha Vayande is on the case.
