Maratha Kranti Morcha protests against Dr Kabra of Save Merit Save Nation

Aurangabad, May 28:

The police today arrested 9 office bearers of Maratha Kranti Morcha who had gathered in front of the Kabra hospital accusing Dr Praveen Kabra for funding Save Merit Save Nation movement, which has filed a petition opposing the Maratha reservation. The activists were planning to throw black ink on Dr Kabra.

The agitators are Sunil Kotkar, Ravi Kale, Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad, Sanjay Sawant, Bharat Kadam, Santosh Gaikwad, Ganesh Ugle Patil, Nilesh Dhawale, Pandharinath Godse and Dattatrey Ghare. Giving more information, Kotkar and Kale said that Maratha society is a peaceful society and works with all communities. However, when the Maratha community got reservation under SEBC, the Save Merit Save Nation movement came into being. They filed a petition against Maratha reservation in the Nagpur bench. Not only that, there was a hearing on the Maratha reservation case in the Supreme Court. Among those opposing the reservation at the time was a petition from Save Merit Save Nation. They opposed the Maratha reservation by spending lakhs of rupees. This led to the repeal of the reservation law. We have a list of people who provided financial support to Save Merit Save Nation. This includes Dr Praveen Kabra from Kabra Hospital in Aurangabad. Hence, the Maratha Kranti Morcha was going to throw black ink on him as a protest. However as the protestors reached the hospital they were taken into custody by police.
