Aurangabad, May 15:

Members of Yuva Sena locked Swami Vivekanand Academy, Chikalthana, on Saturday against the decision of closing it permanently.

It may be noted that the management of Marathi medium school Swami Vivekanand Academy decided to close it permanently.

The school sent a Transfer Certificate to students by speed post. In a letter issued to parents stated that the remaining fee of students should be paid immediately.

Parents met Yuva Sean officers who reached the school to verify it.

However, the school administration did not respond to the office-bearers who locked from outside. The activists tried to contact the school headmaster and management but did not succeed.

Police also reached the spot. There was a heated exchange of words between police and the activists. The office-bearers said that school should not play with the future of students and teachers. “How schools can give TC to students when education officer rejected the proposal of the school closure. We will launch agitation against the dictatorial attitude of school management,” they said.

Yuva Sena district president Hanuman Shinde, coordinator Sandeep Lingayat, Ganesh Telore, city chief Shekhar Jadhav, Sagar Khare and others were present.

Students and parents too accompanied them. The schools' administration was not available for comment.

Parents submitted a memorandum to the commissioner of police, police inspector, deputy director of education, education officers and district collector, making a complaint against the school.
