Aurangabad, June 9:

Before the implementation of the lockdown, the daily milk sale of the Aurangabad Jilha Dudh Utpadak Sangh in the city was around 46,000 litres. However, the milk demand decreased due to implantation of the lockdown and reduced to 28,000 litres by Sunday. However, the demand increased by 1000 litress and 29,600 litres milk was sold on Monday after the implementation of the unlock process in the city. The packed milk bags are more in demand, informed the Sangh sources.

The vice president of the Sangh, Nandlal Kale and managing director, P B Patil said, the city need around 1.25 lakh litres, and maximum milk is supplied by the Sangh. Everyday around 90,000 litres is collected here daily. The milk is received from Aurangabad, Ahmednagar and Jalgaon districts. The business of the Sangh was hampered during the last lockdown. In May, 2020, the sale of the milk products was of just Rs 40 lakh. This years, dairy was allowed to be open between 7 am and 11 am and hence the Sangh could earn around Rs 1 crores during this May, they said.

The tenure of the body of the Sangh was extended due to Corona crisis and will expire in August. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the elections. If elections are not held due to Corona then, the Sangh body may get extension again. Presently, the former assembly speaker and MLA Haribhau Bagade is the president of the Sangh.
