Aurangabad, April 9: MLC Satish Chavan on Friday requested chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar to relax restrictions imposed under the 'Break the Chain' campaign to some extent.

Chavan said that under the Break the Chain campaign, all shops except essential services have been closed from April 5 to 30. However, there is a lot of anger from traders and the general public against this decision. Under new restrictions, marriages were allowed. However, shops selling new clothes, jewellery, utensils and other items required for the wedding have been closed. Hence weddings cannot take place. Industries are allowed to continue production. However, shops and showrooms selling products from the companies have been closed. Similarly, construction activity is allowed. However, construction material shops have been closed. This has increased the resentment among the people.
