More than 15 per cent employees called for work

Aurangabad, May 7:

Sidelining the government guidelines regarding Covid-19, more than 15 per cent employees are being called for work in all 8 depots of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) in Aurangabad district. Nearly all employees are present for work.

There are 2000 drivers and conductors and 17 officers in the district. There are about 400 employees in the mechanical department and 300 administrative officers, with a total staff of 2700. The administration has allowed passenger service for employees in essential services. As a result, the attendance of drivers, conductors and officers in state transport office are present for work. However, the employees and officials are following covid norms at the workplace. The coronavirus has caused the most damage to ST employees. Hence more caution is being taken.

As per the rules, emphasis is laid on calling only 15 to 20 per cent drivers and conductors for work. All the depots are strictly following the prescribed rules. We have almost 2700 staff and we are keeping a close watch, said divisional controller Arun Sia.
