MoS orders EOs to visit zilla parishad schools once in a week; verify allegations against private schools

Aurangabad, Feb 5:

The minister of state (MoS) for education, Bacchu Kadu, today instructed the education officers (EOs) to visit at least once in a week to the Zilla Parishad schools to increase the strength of students, their attendance and improve the quality of education. The EOs should also verify and ensure whether the fees collected by the private schools was as per norms or not and if found guilty initiate action, said Bacchu Kadu.

Kadu was speaking to EOs from Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli and Parbhani districts during a review meeting organised at the office of the deputy director (education), in the city.

" The education officers were told to focus on preventing the decline in students' strength in ZP schools and the rise in complaints against the private schools," said the deputy director (education) Anil Sable. The meeting was attended by EOs B B Chavan, Surajprasad Jayaswal, Asha Garud, Suchita Patekar, Vithal Bhusare, Shrikant Kulkarni, Sandipkumar Sontakke, P B Paoshe and many other key offices.

Various parents and teachers associations also submitted their complaints against the English schools to the MoS on occasion. He ordered the education department to check whether the fees was collected by these schools as per norms or not?

Deputy director conducts meeting

After concluding the meeting of MoS, the deputy director Anil Sable also held a meeting with all the EOs and ordered them to take action against schools after verifying the allegations and going through the facts. He also told them to inform their respective boards to initiate action against the schools (if found guilty) and make it mandatory to private schools to obtain NOC from the education department.

The education officials informed the MoS that students' initial attendance in ZP schools was 20-22 pc, but now it has increased to 42 pc. Kadu, however, raised suspicion over the projected figures and the real situation. The EOs of Aurangabad also submitted a list of the schools they had inspected after complaints. Later on, the MoS told the EOs to spare one day in a week to visit ZP schools, said Anil Sable.
