MSRTC drivers-conductors stage ‘Chakka-Jaam’ for 3 hours

Aurangabad, Jan 24:

The drivers and conductors of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) staged ‘Chakka Jam’ at Cidco Bus Stand for three hours on Sunday after their colleague as beaten up.

According to details, a driver Samadhan Wankhede was making an entry into the Cidco Bus Stand from Mukundwadi depot to carry the passengers to Ranjangaon. However, an autorickshaw was standing at the entrance of the Bus Stand.

Samadhan asked the driver to take the vehicle away from the entrance. The autorickshaw driver was talking on the phone, creating a traffic problem. This resulted in heat exchange between both the drivers.

The autorickshaw driver and three others started beating Samadhan Wankhede. Seeing this another MSRTC driver Tatyarao Munde rushed to save his colleague. But, he too was beaten up. When other S T Mandal employees rushed to save their colleagues, the auto driver and his friends fled from the spot. The MSRTC employees caught one of them and handed over to police.

The drivers-conductors staged ‘Chakka Jam’ for three hours in protest of the incident.

On receiving the information, divisional controller Amol Ahire rushed the spot and interacted with the employees.

They demanded to restrict autorickshaws' entry in the premises of bus stand as this results in daily disputes. The employees also drew attention towards autorickshaws halting at bus stops. Amol Ahire assured the employees of meeting the commissioner of police soon. The bus service was resumed at 10 am. Many passengers had to wait for some time due to the incident.
