Navratri festival starts from today, temples closed

Aurangabad, Oct 16:

The Navratri festival is starting from Saturday. However, due to the coronavirus, the temple of the Goddess will remain closed for the devotees this year. Therefore, devotees will have to worship the Goddess at home.

This year, except for Karnapura temple, most of the temples in the city were not painted. The Karnapur fair has also been canceled this year. Worship and abhishek at Karnapura temple will be done by the Danve family at 5 am.

Ghatsthapana and Aarti of Goddess will be performed at 7 am. Only a handful of priests will be present at this time. The temple of the Goddess will be closed for all nine days for the devotees. The Renukamata temple in Hudco will celebrate the festival in a simple manner. The temple was not painted nor illuminated this year.

As the door of the temple was closed, devotees were seen taking darshan from outside on Friday. Abhishek, puja will be performed by the temple trust president. However, no devotee will be allowed to enter the temple. The Harsulkar family will complete the Ghatsthapana in the morning at Kuldevi Harsiddhi Mata Mandir in Harsul.

Sadguru Appa Maharaj will perform Ghatsthapana and Aarti at Renukamata temple on Beed Bypass Road. In the morning, Ghatsthapana and Aarti will also be held at Renukamata Temple at High Court, Kuvarphalli and Mahalaxmi Temple at Nageshwarwadi. All temples will be closed for devotees for nine days. However, devotees can visit the idol of the Goddess set up by the public Navratri Mandal from some distance.
