New norms of vegetable, fruit retailers in Jadhawadi

Aurangabad, April 11:

Administration of Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) made new norms for vendors to sell vegetables and fruit at Jadhavwadi because of COVID spread.

It may be noted that the crowd at Jadhavwadi vegetable market became a headache for the district administration as it cannot control a large number of people’s gathering.

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation allowed to organise a vegetable market at 41 places in the city to reduce the crowd of customers. But, retailers did not respond to it.

Agents (adat) were seen sitting illegally on the premises and the Market Committee could not prevent them.

The APMC came out with a solution of marking yellow boxes on the premises by maintaining the required distance. Nearly 200 yellow boxes were made and one box was allotted to each retailer for doing business.

The Committee appointed 21 security guard through a new agency. APMC chairman Radhakisan Pathade said that action would be taken against the vendors if they are found sitting outside the box.
