No entry in Karnapura on Kojagiri purnima

Aurangabad, Oct 27:

The temple of Goddess at Karnapura is closed this year, due to Covid-19. The administration has now banned entry for the devotees on the Kojagiri Purnima (full moon) in Karnapura area. The cantonment board has demanded a police bandobast on October 30 to restrict crowds from entering the area.

Devotees from Marathwada and other parts of the state come in large numbers to pay homage to the Goddess during Navratri and Kojagiri Purnima. But this time the yatra was not held because of the corona. Also, the government did not allow the opening of temples. Therefore, devotees had to take blessings from outside. Apart from that, the temple sees a large number of devotees on Kojagiri as well. However, this time the administration has banned devotees in the Karnapura area. As a precaution, Vikrant More, chief executive officer of the cantonment board, has instructed the Chawni police to set up a police cordon in the Karnapura area on October 30 to avoid the crowds.
