Notorious goon Tipya escapes from police trap

Aurangabad, Feb 25:

Notorious goon on police record, Shaikh Javed alias Tipya escaped from the police trap laid to arrest him at Vijaynagar on Wednesday night. However, the police managed to nab his accomplice Shaikh Sohail Shaikh Badshah (26, Rahimnagar, Beed By-pass) with a country-made pistol in the action.

According to the details, Tipya and his accomplice Sohail were coming from Beed By-pass area to Pundliknagar via Vijaynagar. The Pundliknagar police station API Ghansham Sonawane received the information that they are carrying a country-made pistol with them. Around 7 pm, API Sonawane, PSI Dhanaji Adhav, constable Ramesh Sangle, Balaram Chaure, Rajesh Yadmal, Shivaji Gaikwad, Ravi Jadhav, Deepak Jadhav, Vilas Doiphode, Ajay Kamble, Praveen Muley and others laid a trap at Vijaynagar. When Tipya saw the police in front of him, he jumped from the motorcycle and fled away from the scene. The police managed to nab his accomplice Shaikh Sohail and seized a country-made pistol and live cartridges from him. A case has been registered against Tipya and Sohail at the Pundliknagar police station on the basis of the complaint lodged by constable Balaram Chaure.

Meanwhile, Sohail confessed that they were going to search a customer for the country-made pistol. Sohail is a sand mafia and several cases of fight, encroachment on land and others are registered against him, the police said.
