Aurangabad, March 17:

A number of aspirants of HSC and SSC has come down in Aurangabad division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).

It may be noted that 3.35 lakh students of HSC and SSC applied for the examinations to be held in April-May 2021 while last year, it was 3.73 lakh.

The number of students has come down by 38,000. This indicates that students may take the examination in the next session because of Novel coronavirus spread.

There is a challenge before the State Board to conduct the offline examination in COVID situation.

The fresh students' examinations will be based on 75 per cent syllabus while for repeaters will have to study 100 pc.

The divisions have handed over the question bank based on 100 syllabi to the MSBSHSE head office. The State Board has released the question bank on Wednesday. The schedule of practical and theory paper was already released.

The district-wise number of SSC and HSC candidates is as follows,brackets indicate figure of both standards; Aurangabad (SSC 65,011--HSC-55,177), Beed (44,588--36,267), Jalna (31,296--28,277), Parbhani (28,440--20,552) and Hingoli (16,276--11,580).

The total aspirants of 10th and 12th are 1.83 lakh) and 1.51 lakh respectively.

There are 14,452 repeaters, including 7,034 of HSC.
