‘Pachola Survarna Mahotsav’ to be held on July 17

Aurangabad, July 15:

Marathi Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) will host ‘Pachola Survarna Mahotsav’ at 11 am on July 17.

The festival will be organised to celebrate the golden jubilee of publishing the first novel ‘Pachola’ by Principal R R Borade.

Principal Borade whose many literary works are based on rural life is an alumnus of Marathi Department of the university.

His novel ‘Pachola’ made an impression in Marathi literature. He has portrayed the life of rural women in it, a dialect of Udgir tehsil, the impact of machines on rural life. The novel, which was written in 1971, completes 50 years.

Principal Borade himself will attend the programme while prominent critics Nandkumar More (Kolhapur) and Dutta Gholap (Solapur) will share their opinions on it.

The university will show live streaming of the event through its Facebook page.

Department head Dr Dasu Vaidya and Dr Kailas Ambhure appealed to all literature lovers to participate in the programme.
