'Parents' worship' on Valentine's Day

Aurangabad, Feb 15: Gita Parivar, to nurture our tradition, organized ‘Matru – Pitru Pujan’ (parents worship) on Valentine’s Day on Sunday. A six years old girl Ovi worshiped her parents Ashish and CA Puja Kela in a unique manner. The younger generation is imitating the western tradition, but has forgotten to respect the elders. Children keep their old parents at Old age homes. Hence, it is important to inculcate the Indian values among them.

February 14 is celebrated as a day of love in the western culture. Parents are the first love of the children. Hence, Geeta Parivar, Cidco president, Shobha Malani and the team members appealed to the children to perform ‘Matru – Pitru Pujan’. Lessons were imparted how to do Matru–Pitru Pujan through Shlok recitation, story of Pundlik, and singing of songs.
