Patients on room air at GMCH preferred to be discharged than CCC

Aurangabad, March 22:

The asymptomatic and on room air Corona patients at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) are preferred to be given discharge rather than shifting to the Covid Care Centres (CCC). Such 30 patients were given discharge on Monday. The patients hence forth will be admitted considering the preference to the serious patients, informed the acting dean Dr Kailas Zine.

Earlier, planning was made to shift the patients on room air at GMCH to the CCC. Accordingly, the relatives of the patients were counseled on Sunday. However, they demanded that such patients should be kept in home isolation rather than CCC. The GMCH administration has acted positively to this demand and decided to keep these patients in home quarantine. They were given discharge as per the guidelines of ICMR.

Dr Zine said, preference is given to provide beds to the serious patients. Hence, only serious patients are being admitted. The patients on the room air will be given discharge. Presently, there are 332 serious and 209 mild symptoms patients, he said.
