Permission to weddings make bridegrooms happy

Aurangabad, July 1:

Against the backdrop of a possible third wave of Covid-19, the district administration imposed restrictions from June 29 and permitted transactions between 7 am to 4 pm. With curbs in place, there were chances of cancellation of planned weddings. Meanwhile, the district collector Sunil Chavan on Wednesday issued revised orders permitting weddings on Saturday and Sunday with terms and conditions.

According to the order issued by the district collector, the restrictions are being relaxed on Saturdays and Sundays as there are per-planned wedding ceremonies as per the auspicious occasions. Apart from this, punitive action will be taken if customers, guests are present at hotels, marriage halls on weekends for any other ceremonies. As per the condition, the presence of relatives has been limited to 50 per cent of the capacity of the hall for the wedding ceremony. For this, permission of municipal corporation and police administration is required. It is also mandatory to follow all Covid-19 rules. Relatives from the bride and groom are rushing to the ward offices and the police department for obtaining permission. However, many are happy that the planned weddings will take place as per schedule.

Happy about the decision

There was tremendous tension among the family members as the marriage was to happen on Sunday. We never thought that lockdown will be imposed. All bookings were done as per necessity. We were concerned when the administration announced 100 per cent lockdown on weekends. However, now the administration has permitted weddings and we are happy that our weeding will take place on the auspicious occasion, said father of the groom on the condition of anonymity.

We were under tremendous tension

Our wedding is scheduled for July 13 at a marriage hall in the city. But the announcement of the lockdown had increased the panic among family members. The marriage ceremony will now have to take place after taking all necessary permissions, said the father of the groom.
