Plan to avoid water scarcity, provide adequate water to the city

Guardian minister, Subhash Desai on Friday, instructed the authorities to make a proper planning of the available water stock in the district and also provide adequate water to the city. Desai said that the district currently has abundant water reserves. Hence the administration must plan to avoid shortage of water during the summer season.

A meeting was held at the collector office to determine the availability of drinking water reserves in the district''s irrigation projects. Speaking in the meeting, guardian minister Desai said that due to this year''s rains, there is abundant water in the reservoir. Proper planning of this water will ensure that there is no shortage of water in times of scarcity. For appropriate water supply to the city, Desai also directed the concerned officials to ensure that the citizens of the city and district get an adequate supply of clean and pure water.

The authority should follow up and complete the water supply scheme proposed by Khultabad municipal council, he added.

Collector Sunil Chavan, Municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, ZP chief executive officer Dr Mangesh Gondawale, additional collector Dr Anant Gavhane, superintendent engineer of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Ajay Singh, executive engineer of irrigation department A M Nimbhore and other officials were present.
