Police solve 2-yr-old murder mystery

MIDC Waluj Police solved the mystery of youth’s murder that took place at Vitava in Waluj Mahanagar two years ago.
Police inspector of MIDC Waluj Police Station Madhukar Sawant said that a youth’s dead body was found on Ghanegaon-Nandeda road on September 30, 2018.
The identity of the deceased as Bharat Nivruttti Alhat (27, Vitava) was revealed based on Aadhar Card found in his pocket.
Police registered a case of accidental death. However, later a murder case was registered with the police based on probe and doctor’s opinion.
The police team grilled some suspects but, did not get concrete evidence.
Police felt that somebody from the village have murdered the youth. They started collecting information about those who have left the village. During the search, the names of Amol Patole and Rakesh Choudhary surfaced.
A police team raided a place in Ranjangaon Ganapati in Pune districts in the wee hours of Wednesday and arrested Amol Patole (21, Vitava) and Rakesh Choudhary (21, Ranjangaon Ganapati, Pune).
Police brought them to MIDC Waluj Police Station and grilled them. The accused confessed to murdering Bharat Alhat.

Police officers said “ Rakesh who wanted to sell his mobile went to UP Dhaba in Waluj MIDC area along with his friend Amol Patole. Bharat, who was acquainted with Rakesh came there and purchased the mobile phone from them. Bharat withdrew Rs 4,000 from an ATM Centre at Ranjangaon Phate and gave Rs 2500 to Rakesh. Bharat bought liquor. The trio went to Ghanegaon-Nandeda road on a motorcycle.
In a state of stupor, Bharat abused Rakesh and Amol. Angered over this, they murdered him with stone.
The accused came to UP Dhaba on their two-wheeler. They parked their vehicle near the motel and left for home. After five to six months, Rakesh took Amol to Pune where both of them were working.”
Deputy commissioner of police Nikesh Khatmode-Patil announced a cash award of Rs 15,000 to the team which solved the murder mystery.
The team comprises PI Madhukar Sawant, API Gautam Wavle, police head constables Vasant Shelke, Qayyum Pathan, Sudhir Sonawne, Revnath Gavle, Nawab Shaikh, Vinod Pardeshi, Manmohan Kolimi, Banndu Gore, Pradeep Kute and Deepak Matlabe.
