Political activists fail to maintain social distancing, wear facemasks while meeting deputy CM

Aurangabad, Feb 15:

The common person is following the guidelines of the administration to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the city. However, there was sheer violence of the Covid-19 guidelines from political parties' activists while meeting with the deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar at Subhedari Guest House today evening. Majority of the visitors were not wearing facemasks and failed to maintain social distancing. They were also falling upon each other while meeting the deputy CM.

Seeing the rush, Pawar uttered, " Itha Kay Gathod Thevlay Ka?" It means that is there any treasure kept here.

The deputy CM reached the guest house after finishing the meeting organised in the divisional commisisonerate at 5.10 pm. Before his arrival, many delegations were waiting to meet him. They were standing with memorandums in their hands, while some were holding flower bouquets to welcome him. Tight police bandobast was deployed at the guest house campus.

Later on, the police closed the door and allowed one delegation at a time to meet Pawar. The rush was uncontrolled. There was screaming. However, there was a sheer violation of social distancing. The meeting with delegations continued till 6.30 pm. Pawar stood near a suite outside the main meeting hall to accept the memorandums.

Passing the above comment in Marathi, the deputy CM then went in the main meeting hall to meet other delegations waiting for him. Sambhaji Brigade, Mupta, Marathwada Vibhag Granthalay Sangh and many others met him. MLC Satish Chavan and office-bearers of Aurangabad District and Congress NCP units were accompanying him.

The deputy CM also had a meeting with the commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta and the superintendent of police (SP) Mokshada Patil on occasion.
