Pranayam help control coronavirus to great extent

Aurangabad, May 8:

Coronavirus is mainly a respiratory disease. If the respiratory system is kept strong, this disease can be controlled to a great extent. That is why pranayam is effective against corona if it is applied correctly, say yoga experts. Nowadays, boosting the capacity of the lungs and the immune system have become essential for everyone. Regular pranayam, meditation and yoga practice can both achieve good results. However, there is still a possibility of getting corona despite doing regular yoga practice and pranayam. The only benefit of these exercises is that even if a person has corona, he has very mild symptoms and can be overcome and healed in a short time, said experts.

These benefits have once again raised awareness among the general public about yoga and pranayam during the corona period. These things can be done in a very small space and for free without leaving the house. Therefore, the experts appealed to do yoga-pranayam and strengthen health.

Benefits of doing regular pranayam

1) Yoga-pranayam-meditation has a unique significance in the corona period. This is because corona affects the respiratory system and all three exercises strengthen the respiratory system.

2) People who do yoga, pranayam, and meditation regularly have a very mild form of corona and it also recovers quickly.

3) After doing pranayam, nitrous oxide gas is formed in the body. This affects the blood vessels in the lungs and causes them to proliferate. This increases the ability to take in oxygen.

What experts say:

Pranayam is purely a breathing exercise. Breathing with full capacity and exhaling at an equally slow pace makes the lungs more efficient. The result is an increase in immunity. It also reduces muscle strength. Yogasanas increase muscle capacity. Also regular meditation raises morale and it is very important during the corona period, said Dr Charulata Rojekar.

Pranayam should be done regularly

Pranayam is important for the full potential of the lungs. We release and take half a liter of air through the lungs. But if this capacity is increased by pranayam, this limit is increased to about four and a half liters. As the capacity increases, so does the supply of oxygen. It is best to do pranayam after doing the asanas. Pranayams like Bhramari, Anulom- Vilom, Kapalbhati done with Tadasana, Trikonasana, Veerabhadrasana and Bhujangasana are also useful, Dr Jayant Baride.

Improves the immune system

Pranayam increases the efficiency of the lungs. As a result, the right amount of oxygen reaches the whole body. It calms the mind. Which is essential for a healthy body and a healthy mind. Pranayam, yoga practice reduces stress and improves our immune system , said Dr Uttam Kalvane.
