Proposal to beautify Kham River-bed gains momentum

Aurangabad, April 9:

The state tourism and environment minister Aditya Thackeray has issued a letter to the District Planning Officer (on April 8) and the Executive Engineer (Public Works Department) to draft a proposal with an estimate and submit it to the state government through the Director (Tourism Directorate, Mumbai). The proposal of beautifying the Kham River-bed will be funded under the Regional Tourism Development Scheme.

It may be noted that the MLC Ambadas Danve had met the minister on March 1, 2019. He had urged him to make a provision of Rs 1500 lakh to develop Kham River as a tourism spot by beautifying its bed of 7 km length. The development of one more tourist spot will generate employment opportunity for the locals, he had pointed out in the meeting.
