Railway station witnessing migrant labours huge rush

Aurangabad, April 21:

Hundreds of labourers and workers have started migration from the city with possible lockdown across the State.

It may be noted that the labourers had to face a lot of inconvenience because of lockdown last year.

Considering last year’s experience, labourers from industrial estates who came here from out of State and district started returning to their native places than living with starvation here.

Around 17 trains arrive at Railway Station. The contractors had assured the workers that they would be provided all the facilities at the site initially, but now they are taking their workers calls due to strict lockdown announcement.

The labourers at the railway station told this newspaper they were leaving to their native place without having anything to eat in lockdown.

The railway station is witnessing a huge of labourers. Two special trains are being operated, however, there is no regular passengers rush. The 17 trains carry 3500 passengers daily.

Public Relations Officer of South Central Railway Rajes Shinde said that most of the workers are travelling for Mumbai and out of State.

Meanwhile, college students staying in a rented room are leaving the city as they cannot afford rent and meal in lockdown.
