Rare eagle owl found at Chikalthana MIDC

Aurangabad, Jan 16:

A rare bird was stationed in a company at the Chikalthana MIDC area for the past 15 days. However, the persons in the company could not identify the bird. Later, it was known that it was the rarest eagle owl, the species, which is getting extinct now.

Environmentalist Kishor Pathak informed that Rupesh Wagh and Bharti Ahire first spotted the bird and told it to a snake catcher Nitesh Jadhav. Later, Nitesh, Sharad Dabhade, Bapu Mugdal, Jaber Pathan, Pushpa Shinde and others, after strenuous efforts, caught the rare eagle owl. They brought the bird to Dr Pathak for treatment. Its movement had slowed down due to the less amount of calcium in the body. There were no injuries on the body, but calcium was less as it could not get its neutrinos food, which is a mouse, Dr Pathak said. The bird is being treated under the guidance of Dr Pathak, and nutritious food is also being provided. The forest department has been informed about it.

Eagle owl is a black-grey coloured bird, and its natural habitat is dense forest. It lives on the mouse and small birds. This species is getting extinct now.
