Ration shop owners go on strike; meet MLAs

Aurangabad, May 2:

Around 1,802 ration shop owners of the district started strike from May 1 opposing the distribution of grains through the e-pass machine. Common people were facing inconvenience because of the strike.

President of Akhil Maharashtra Rajya Swasth Dhanya Dukandar Mahasangh D N Patil met MLAs Atul Save and Sanjay Shirsath, MLC Ambadas Danve on Sunday and submitted a memorandum demanding an opportunity to present their side with the Government.

Vaijapur tehsil shop owners met MLA Ramesh Bornare and submitted a memorandum and deposited all e-pass machines in the tehsil office.

Tehsildar Gaikwad requested the fair price shop owners to withdraw the strike. Tehsil union president Vyavhare said that they would not withdraw the strike until their demands are not fulfilled.

Executive president Madhukar Chavan, Milind Pimple, Lalit Patni, Umesh Chudiwal, Sachin Korde, Anita Mantri and others were present.

MLA Shirsath said that the demands of shop owners are proper and would take with Civil Supply Minister. MLC Danve told the district collector to hold a meeting of shop owners. MLA Save said that he would talk with the Government and Civil Supply Minister. Patil said that they would meet with MPs of the district on May 3.
