Aurangabad, April 14:

The administration has imposed restrictions to stop the spread of Corona pandemic. A salon owner breaching the directives of the Corona guidelines died in a police action in Osmanpura on Wednesday afternoon. The outraged relatives of the deceased brought the dead body of the deceased salon owner at the Osmanpura police station and demanded to register a case against the responsible PSI and constable. The commissioner of police took cognizance of the incident and immediately transferred the responsible officers. The agitation was withdrawn after the mediation of MP Imtiyaaz Jaleel. Later, the body was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post mortem in an ambulance.

The deceased has been identified as Feroz Khan Qadir Khan (45, Osmanpura). According to the details, Feroz owns SS Gents Parlour in Osmanpura area. He lives with his family next to the Saloon. On Wednesday, his salon was open despite the restrictions of the district administration. PSI Pravin Wagh and Constable Sandipan Dharme of the Osmanpura police station were patrolling in the area and found that the salon was open. They called employee Balu, who was in the salon and asked him to close the salon and call the owner. When Feroz came there, he had a dispute with the policemen. During the manhandling, Feroz fell and sustained head injuries. The police then left the spot. However, Feroz fell unconscious and was taken to Dr Harish Nagadkar clinic near the salon but the doctor asked him to take to the GMCH. When he was taken to the GMCH, the doctors declared him dead after examination. The relatives were annoyed and directly brought the body to the Osmanpura police station. They demanded to register a case against the responsible officers. They started shouting slogans in front of the police station.

Meanwhile, CP Dr Nikhil Gupta, DCP Deepak Girhe, ACP Ravindra Salokhe, PI Avinash Aghav, Rameshwar Rodge, Surendra Malale, Santosh Patil API Ghansham Sonawane, Riot Control team and other officers rushed to the Osmanpura police station.

MP Imitiyaaz Jaleel also went to the police station and took information of the incident from the relatives. After the discussion with the Dr Gupta, the relatives demanded immediate action against the officer. Dr Gupta immediately issued order to transfer PI Dilip Tare, PSI Pravin Wagh and Constable Sandipan Dharme at the police head quarters. He also assured that legal action will be taken against Wagh and Dharme, if found guilty. MP Jaleel and Dr Gupta made this announcement on the loudspeaker outside the police station.

The investigation of the case will be conducted by crime branch PI Avinash Aghav, Dr Gupta said.

Feroz had undergone a by-pass surgery at Nashik around 20 days back. Hence, to know the real reason of the death, Dr Gupta issued order to conduct the post mortem in camera.
