Republic Day at Winchester School

Aurangabad, Jan 30: Republic Day was celebrated at Winchester International English School with patriotic fervour. The flag was hoisted by chief guest Zohra Tilat and school director/principal Dr Afsar Khan. Speeches in English, Marathi and Sanskrit were delivered by Urooj Ayesha, Venu Pathrikar and Samrat Borde respectively. A mono skit Soldier’s Daughter was presented by Urooj Ayesha (grade 10). Senior boys and girls presented an item showcasing lost leader who contributed a lot in the India’s freedom movement. The play was directed by Anjum Ishrat. Patriotic songs were rendered by Shaikh Uzair (grade 10). Dr Khan explained the importance of the Republic Day. The programme was supervised by Neha Mehveen Khan, the academic coordinator, Tabassum health and safety officer, and Bareen Laiq, KG supervisor. A lush green football field with artificial grass was the school’s Republic Day gift to the students and parents.
