Result of 1st paper of PET declared;

Aurangabad, Feb 1:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) declared the result of the first paper of Ph D Entrance Test (PET)-V on Monday.

It may be noted that 11,768 candidates registered for the test while 11,154 appeared on Saturday. A total of 614 were absent.

Of the total appeared candidates, 5,688 opted for Marathi while 5,182 took the English medium test. There are 284 candidates of Hindi medium.

A total of 116 candidates drew a duck. Around 4,263 candidates obtained marks between 1 and 44.5 per cent while 6,775 aspirants have secured marks above 45 pc.

Deputy registrar Dr Ganesh Manza said that the list of eligible candidates for the second paper would be announced on February 6.

Those who have obtained 50 pc marks (45 pc for backward class) are eligible for the second paper that would be conducted on February 21.

The first paper was based on general knowledge and reasoning ability while the second one is about subject specialisation. There are 42 such subjects.

The result of the second paper will be announced on February 24. The certificate will be made available for the candidates from February 28 onwards.

The vacant seats and number of research guide will also be announced till the second paper.
