Rickshaw driver meets watery grave in Harsul lake

Aurangabad, Nov 22:

A rickshaw driver gone for a morning walk with his daughter could not resist his desire to swim in the Harsul Lake. He entered the lake but drowned in the middle of the lake on Sunday at around 7 am. The body of the rickshaw driver was not found even after a through search operation in the lake for almost 10 hours.

The deceased has been identified as Vishwanath Pralhad Dandge (48, Ektanagar, Harsul).

On Sunday, Viswanath with his daughter, went for a morning walk on Jatwada Road. While returning home, they stopped near Harsul lake, and Vishwanath entered the lake after handing over his clothes and shoes to his daughter. He asked his daughter to walk on the bank of the lake while he is swimming. However, she saw that Vishwanath was drowning in the lake as soon as he reached in the middle of the lake.

She screamed for help, but Vishwanath met a watery grave since then. The nearby residents gathered, and the police and the fire bridgade were also informed. Two teams of the fire bridage jawans started the search operation in the lake at around 9.30 am but could not find him. The operation was stopped in the evening after almost 10 hours due to dark.

Meanwhile, swimming has been banned in the lake, still many people enter the lake for swimming. The desire to swim in the lake cost dearer to the rickshaw driver on Sunday morning.

Fire brigade jawans Vinayak Limkar, Ashok Veldode, Sachin Shinde, Sujeet Kalyankar, Shashikant Gite, Paresh Dudhe, Yogesh Dube and others took efforts to find Vishwanath. The search operation was stopped at 7 pm.
