Schools to be shut down if Covid patient found in respective village

Aurangabad, July 14:

District collector Sunil Chavan said that schools from standard 8th to 12th would be shut down again if a patient is found in the respective village.

It may be noted that the State Government issued guidelines for reopening the schools from eighth to 12th standards. The administration started preparations for reopening the schools in Covid free villages.

Sunil Chavan took a review meeting today for schools reopening in rural areas. He said that the preparations were being for schools re-starting after taking details of villages with patients.

“Stress would be laid to expedite vaccination campaign so that rural areas return to normalcy. The response to vaccination is low in rural areas compared to the city,” he said.

There is a target to vaccinate 32.87 lakh citizens between 18 and 44 years of age. The administration has a plan to vaccinate 11.76 lakh citizens in the city while 21.10 lakh in rural areas. The vaccination of 9.66 lakh people was completed.

Of them, 7.43 lakh people took the first dose, while the remaining were administered the first and second doses.

District collector said that vaccination drive should get momentum in rural along with the city.
