Several gangs of Juvenile thieves active in city

It has been cleared in the police investigation that several gangs of the Juvenile thieves breaking shop, houses and stealing two-wheelers are active in the city. The Osmanpura, Satara, Pundliknagr, Begumpura, Kranti Chowk and Harsul police had taken action against such juvenile thieves. However, there have been no efforts of the action as these gangs have been active again. These juvenile thieves are proving a headache for the police now.

Osmanpura police arrested the members of Gaibya Gang from the Kalibasti in Osmanpura area. It was found that the gang members with the help of minor boys broke 18 shops. The stolen articles were seized from them in front of their parents. After the order of the court, the boys were given in the custody of their parents. After that these boys again committed crimes like breaking shops and stealing two-wheelers. The Satara police also took such juvenile thieves in custody and seized stolen articles. Importantly, the Satara police took such actions on three occasions in the past four months. At Mondha, young boys were involved in the shop breaking along with the adults. The police took action against young boys in the Mukundwadi – Pundliknagar police station jurisdiction. One boys was the accomplice of the thief who broke 10 shops at Jatwada Road. These juvenile are kept in the remand home for two months after arrested and then released. They against start the criminal activities after coming out and hence they are not afraid of police.

Moreover, it has found that the adult criminals compel these boys to commit thefts. Even if the boys are arrested they are not punished severely due to which, the adult thieves misuse them.

Gaibya, arrested by the Osmanpura police, is involved in criminal activities since he was a minor. Presently, he is in the Harsul jail. He and his accomplices used to steal mobile phones of the train passengers. During the lockdown, the trains were closed and hence these criminals were diverted towards shops breaking and stealing two-wheelers.

Moreover, the background from where these children came is criminal. There are several criminals around them. The parents of these children are on the criminal records and they compel them to commit thefts.
