State government should conduct a high level inquiry regarding ventilators-MLC Chavan

The state government should set up a high-level committee to inquire whether the ventilators from the PM cares fund are usable by patients. The inquiry should be reported to the central government, said MLC Satish Chavan.

Taking note of the news published in Lokmat Times, Chavan visited the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Thursday and inspected the condition of the ventilator. Later addressing a press conference, Chavan said, In Marathwada, where the ventilator was given, the possibility of some patients losing their lives using it cannot be ruled out. A report by a committee of experts in the GMCH states that the ventilators are not suitable for corona patients in the ICU. These ventilators were given to private hospitals in Marathwada. Therefore, it is the fault of those who make ventilators and distributed them. Chavan demanded to take back the ventilator provided by the center and provide better ventilator. Dr Abhijit Deshmukh, head of the department of medicine Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya and Dr Sudhir Chaudhary were present.

BJP leaders should repair the ventilators

The BJP leaders who took the credit should repair the ventilators or else send it back, said Chavan. Dr Bhagwat Karad should show whether any decision has been made. Vaccination drive was called a festival by BJP. It should provide statistics on how many people got vaccinated and where the vaccines came from. MLA Haribhau Bagade is partially aware of the condition of the ventilators from the PM cares fund, Chavan said.
