Stray dog bites five persons in Gulmandi locality

Sensation prevailed in Gulmandi and Kumbharwada vicinity after a stray dog bites five persons today at10 am. The citizens and the business fraternity got panicked after the incident. Meanwhile, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation''s (AMC) dog squad tried their best to catch stray dogs, but they manage to give the slip to them.

To control the population of stray dogs, the AMC had appointed a private agency to sterilise them. It also deployed a dog squad to overcome the plaints relating to stray dogs in the city. The AMC has claimed of sterilising 6,000 stray dogs from the city during 2020. Earlier, the AMC had introduced a scheme to adopt cubs of stray dogs, but it failed to receive citizens'' responses.

It so happened that few stray dogs started to run in the direction of Kumbharwada from Gulmandi. Meanwhile, one of them bites one pedestrian while on the way. The dog again bites 3-4 persons in Kumbharwada. Sensation prevailed amongst the citizens, who were in the area for purchasing when they learnt about the dog-bite. Meanwhile, three injured youths had been admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment, and remaining two preferred to undertake treatment in private hospitals.

Acting on the information, the head of the dog squad, Shaikh Shaded, arrived with two dog-catching vans and squad members in Gulmandi vicinity. The squad chased the stray dogs, but they managed to escape in the bylanes of the vicinity.
