Aurangabad, Jan 7:

“We have faced financial, social and education problems in lockdown that was imposed to contain the spread of Novel corona. The condition of women and girl was the worst as parents got their daughters married because of uncertain future condition,” opined students from different districts in the online elocution competition organised jointly by Tarabai Shinde Study Centre and National Service Scheme unit of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) recently.

They said they had to keep their textbooks and notes in the university to leave for the native village after the sudden lockdown declaration. “There is no regular electricity in the village. All financial transactions were halted and there was a big question of getting two squares meal,” they added.

A total of 64 students participated in it.

Dr Anil Jayebhaye, Dr Nagesh Shelke, Dr Sonali Kshirsagar, Ashwini More, Manjushri Landge, Dr Nirmala Jadhav and Savita Bahirat were the judges. Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Chetna Sonkamble also attended it.
