SVP sweeps ADCCB elections by winning 15 seats; Oppn. grabs four seats

Aurangabad, March 22:

In a shocking development, the MLA and sitting director of Aurangabad District Central Co-operative (ADCC) Bank Haribhau Bagade has lost the election today. However, his panel's other candidates, including Nitin Patil (sitting chairman) and sitting director Abdul Sattar, won the elections.

There was tough fight between Shetkari Vikas Panel (SVP)-led by Bagade and Shetkari Sahakari Bank Vikas Panel (SSBVP)-led by Kalyan Kale. There are 21 board of directors (BoD) in ADCCB. Of which, the election for 18 seats was held on Sunday. Hence the fate of 48 candidates in the fray was sealed by the voters on March 21. The voting percentage recorded was 93.90 pc. Earlier, the SVP's EGS minister Sandeepan Bhumre (from Paithan) and SSBVP's Kiran Patil Dongaonkar (from Khuldabad) were declared as elected unopposed, while the election of Personal Constituency was not held as nobody filed the nomination.

SVP candidates got elected on 15 seats, SSBVP won four seats and one winner is an independent candidate. The minister of state (MoS) Abdul Sattar confirmed that the SVP's 15 candidates had won the elections and expressed sorrow over the defeat of their panel leader Haribhau Bagade.

The counting of votes began today at 9 am and got completed by 2 pm, under the supervision of the election returning officer Mukesh Barhate. The names of winning candidates from various constituencies and the votes polled by them (in bracket) are Nitin Patil (176 votes), Abdul Sattar (33 votes), Satish Chavan (151 votes), Jagannath Kale (176 votes), Abhishek Jaiswal (147 votes), Ambadas Danve (160 votes), Appasaheb Ramkrishna Patil (68 votes), Surekha Prabhakar Kale (22 votes), Krishna Patil Dongaonkar (55 votes), Manoj Rathod (60 votes), Suhas Shirsaat (36 votes), Arjun Gade (63 votes), Javed Shabbir Patel (39 votes), Parvatibai Jadhav (498 votes), Mandabai Mane (573 votes), Dr Satish Gaikwad (598 votes), Devyani Patil (536 votes) and Dr Dinesh Pardeshi (706 votes) stated Barhate.
