Taxi drivers appeal to give time for paying installments

Aurangabad, May 15:

Since the first wave of Covid-19, the taxi business has come to a standstill. The taxi drivers are facing financial hardships as tourists and domestic passengers have reduced. Many taxi drivers are also not able to pay the loan installments. Hence the drivers made a statement to MP Imtiyaz Jaleel and MLA Atul Save demanding that the loan installments on them should be waived for some time.

The statement said that drivers can't pay the loan installments. Private companies and banks which disburse loans are threatening to confiscate the vehicles. Hence the government must take note of our situation and stop our installments for a few months. Taxi driver Suresh Suryavanshi said, "We are not being able to pay the installments as the business has come to a standstill. Some private loan companies are threatening us that our vehicles will be confiscated. MP Jaleel said that we will request the commissioner of police to take action against such agents and private companies. To this day, drivers have paid off their regular debts and will continue to do so when the situation clears up, we will also talk to the senior management of the company concerned.
