Thousands of fish die in Salim Ali Lake

Aurangabad, March 21:

Thousands of dead fish were found floating in the Salim Ali Lake on Sunday morning. The citizens informed the municipal corporation about the incident. The reason why the fish died is unknown.

Environmentalists in the city are working hard to preserve the biodiversity of Salim Ali Lake. A petition has been filed in the Aurangabad bench in this regard. Therefore, the corporation has not done any development work around the lake in the last few years. Meanwhile, a similar incident was reported in the rainy season after several fish in the lake had died suddenly. On Sunday morning, a large number of dead fish were floating on the shores of the lake. However, no one was able to figure out exactly what caused the incident. Attempts were made to contact the concerned officials of the municipal corporation but they were not available. Residents in the area said there was a need to find out why fish suddenly die in such large numbers.
