Traders insist on removing the restrictions

Aurangabad. June 30:

Furious over the restrictions imposed by the district administration, the traders here today said that corona positive patients in the city are very low, how and why the third phase restrictions were imposed in the city. They demanded that the Chief Minister should give full authority to the district collector to decide whether to relax or increase the restrictions based on the number of patients at the local level. Traders also warned that if the government did not change its decision, they would have to take to the streets.

Considering the possibility of the third wave, the state government has put Aurangabad district in the third category. As a result, shops have to be closed from 4 pm on Monday to Friday. There will also be a complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday. The implementation of this new restriction started on Tuesday. In two days, the city's business has shrunk from 70 per cent to 20 to 30 per cent. Merchants are taking full care of themselves, employees and customers. Despite the dire situation, the government is imposing strict restrictions that have devastated the trading community, said angry traders in the city. Tourist destinations have recently started in the district. There are more tourists on weekends. The market will be closed on the same days. This will send the wrong message about the tourism capital across the country. Some traders also said that the district would face far-reaching consequences.

Government should reconsider the decision

Although the number of corona patients in the city is not in double-digit, the government has imposed restrictions in the third phase. This was a very wrong order and should be reconsidered by the state government. Because, the business has dropped drastically in the last two days, said Praful Malani, president, Marathwada Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

Will take to the streets

We have given a statement to the chief minister, guardian minister, all MLAs, MPs, district collectors to permit the shops to be open on Saturdays and Sundays and be allowed to continue till 7.30 pm every evening. However, if no one listens to the traders, the traders will have to take to the streets, said Laxminarayan Rathi, general secretary, Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh.
