Aurangabad, April 9:

On the backdrop of the increased Corona pandemic, we will pay tribute to Vishwaratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar from homes without gathering in crowds. People should co-operate with the police and should pay tributes from homes, appealed DCP Nikesh Khatmode Patil.

He was speaking during a meeting of the police administration and the followers of Dr Ambedkar held at Paithan Gate two days back. ACP Bhapkar, PI Sachin Sanap, former deputy mayor Prakash Nikalje, Dinkar Onkar, Shravan Gaikwad, Gautam Kharat, Mukund Sonawane, Daulatrao More and others were present.

The activists said, there is a misconception that Bhim Jayanti is only grand celebration but several groups have preserved the tradition of organizing constructive programmes on the occasion. This year due to the Corona pandemic, , blood donation, educational, awareness about Corona and Vaccination etc should be organized. The guidelines should be followed scrupulously. No processions should be organized. Exchange of thoughts should be done through online projects, they mentioned.

The residents assured that there will be no grand celebration and the Jayanti will be celebrated with simplicity from homes. However, they should be given time to purchase decoration articles, flowers and others articles. Similarly, permission should be granted to pay tribute to Dr Ambedkar at the statue at Bhadkal Gate by following all the guidelines. If it is not possible, tributes should be paid there by district collector, commissioner of police, superintendent of police, AMC administration and other officers, they suggested.

Nagraj Gaikwad, Sandeep Shirsath, Dr Jameel Deshmukh, Yogesh Ban, Arun Borde, Sachin Nikam, Gunratna Sonawane, Vijay Wahul, Mukul Nikalje and others were present.
