Aurangabad, Feb 14:

The classes of undergraduate courses in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and affiliated colleges will commence from February 15.

It may be noted the classes were suspended in March with the spread of Novel coronavirus.

The universities and colleges were shut down across the State when there was a rise in patients and their mortality. The university administrative departments and colleges reopened with a meagre staff to reduce the spread of COVID.

The schools from 5th to 10 and junior colleges too were reopened between November and January in a phased-manner.

However, no decision was taken until February first week about senior colleges and universities. The State Government gave permission to restart the undergraduate courses classes in the universities and affiliated colleges from February 15.

Only 50 per cent of students out of total strength will be called for the classes on alternate days as per the pandemic virus's preventive measures.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole held a meeting of officers recently to discuss the restarting the classes. Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath and registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi attended it.

The administration issued a circular for guidelines for the arrangement of classes.

After 11 months gap, the colleges and university departments will bloom with students again.
