Unutilized police chowkies to be started again

Aurangabad, Oct 30:

Considering the increased thefts and criminal activities in the Waluj MIDC area, commissioner of police (CP) Dr Nikhil Guptahas decided to restart the unutilized police chowkies at Wadgaon and Ranjangaon areas.

The crime graph in the Waluj industrial area has risen after the relaxation in the lockdown rules. The incidents of thefts, fights, threats, murder, robbery, vehicle thefts and others have increased considerably. Moreover, the thefts in the MIDC area were meager despite closed companies as the police and industrialists conducted joint patrolling in various areas. However, the criminal activities are on the rise now.

Hence, Dr Gupta, DCP, Nikesh Khatmode – Patil, ACP Vivek Saraf issued orders to start the unutilized police chowkies at Wadgaon Kolhati and Ranjangaon areas. The chowkies in these two villages are being cleaned now while it will be started soon, informed PI, Vijay Gharde.

Similarly, the responsibility of the police chowky at Ranjangaon will be shouldered by one API and four policemen and at Wadgaon by one PSI and two policemen, the sources said.
