Weekend Lockdown: Amidst thin rush of people, shops remained closed

Aurangabad, April 10:

All the shops excluding the essential services remained closed today. However, the rush on the roads hasn't reduced. The weekend lockdown is being observed under the name of 'Break the Chain.' During the last week also, all the shops excluding the ones selling grocery, milk, medicines, bakery etc were closed. The weekend lockdown was there on Saturday, but its impact was not noticed. However, the majority of the shops were closed, but the rush of people was noteworthy on the roads.

There were long queues at some petrol pumps and less rush at some pumps. The vehicle-owners were allowed entry for fuel after going through the identity cards at some pumps (not many). Some pumps were sending the vehicles in batches of five to fill the fuel.

However, the rush at fuel stations was less compared to the regular rush. However, the youths were spotted riding their motorcycles in ' Dhoom' style on roads in Shivajinagar, Sutgirni Chowk, Gajanan Maharaj Road, Seven Hills Chowk, Jalna Road etc during 11.30 am and 12 noon. However, the cops did not warn these bikers at Seven Hills and Sutgirni Chowks.

There were tight police security in the old city markets, old Mondha, Jalna Road, Adalat Road, Station Road, Osmanpura etc areas. The strength of the medicine and grocery shops in other parts of the city is huge. As a result, a rush of people was spotted.
