Wockhardt Global organises Cyclothon

Aurangabad, Feb 4: Wockhardt Global School (WGS) – an IB Continuum World School, MIDC Shendra organised the Mirchi Winter Cyclothon, in association with the Aurangabad District Cycling Association (ADCA), recently.

WGS head Pradeep Sharma flagged off the ride at the ADCA square, Seven Hills. It concluded at the premises of WGS. There was only one criterion for the participants that they need to be over 15 years of age. The participants included men and women, professionals and amateurs, senior citizens, and people from all walks of life. One of the prominent participants was, Niket Dalal, who dazzled everyone despite himself being visually impaired.

School head Sharma, said, “Cycling is not just a form of exercise. It is a way to nurture the mind, body, soul, and the environment. It is vital to preserve physical and mental harmony.”

Divisional Sports Officer and chief guest Kavita Navade while addressing the participants after the ride, said, “I would like to appreciate the efficient organisation of the event by WGS. I also appreciate all the riders from ADCA and many families who participated in the event with so much energy and enthusiasm.’’ Navade presented mementos to the winners to commemorate the event. All the participants were presented with certificates and medals. Corona warriors such as police officers, doctors, and other frontline workers were also feted.

ADCA secretary Charanjeet Singh and other members lauded the organisers. Hetal Ahivasi, PYP Co-ordinator from WGS presented the vote of thanks. WGS offers all three IB programmes, PYP (Primary years Programme), MYP (Middle years Programme) and DP (Diploma Programme).
