ZP plans oxygen audit of 23 hospitals in rural sector

Aurangabad, April 29:

The Zilla Parishad chief executive officer (CEO), Mangesh Gondawale, has ordered the tehsil level contact officers to complete the oxygen audit in 23 hospitals, with the help of health personnel, in the next four days. The divisional commissioner, on Tuesday, ordered to conduct the oxygen audit of rural sector's six government hospitals and 17 Dedicated Covid Health Centres (DCHCs).

Acting upon the orders, the ZP administration has formed a 10-member committee to complete the task of audit within the deadline. The committee headed by the additional CEO Santosh Kawade comprises resident medical officer Dr. Pradeep Kulkarni, Dr. Ganesh Kalyankar, education officer Surajprasad Jayaswal, education officer B B Chavan, deputy CEO Shirish Bansode, Ramprasad Lahoti, Prasad Mirkale, and Shivraj Kendre as the members.

The meeting to discuss on implementation of the audit was held today. Hence the tehsil level contact officer and health officer has been ordered to coordinate with the nodal officers of DCHC or DCH and fill up the seven-page long proforma set by the divisional commissioner through their observations. Acting district health officer Dr. Ulhas Gandal, Dr. Vijay Kumar Wagh, and tehsil level contact officers were present in the meeting. The audit will help to understand the quantity of oxygen in use before and after the audit, said Kawade.

It is learnt that the administration had set up War Room but is unaware about the availability of total beds with oxygen facilities in the rural sector. The DCHC and DCH are under the purview of the district civil surgeon. Due to the absence of coordination between officials from two different offices the war room sans the updated information.
