BMW India CEO Rudratej Singh dies of cardiac arrest

German luxury carmaker BMW India has been rocked by the sudden demise of its 46-year-old President and CEO Rudratej Singh. According to reports Rudratej died of cardiac arrest he had joined BMW India in August after a  a three-year stint at Royal Enfield. "BMW Group India with profound sorrow announces the demise of Rudratej Singh, President and CEO. The cause behind the sudden and unexpected demise is yet to be ascertained," the company said in a statement. "Our prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult period. He will always be remembered as an inspiring and compassionate human being."

Singh's tenure at BMW Group India saw some important launches like the new BMW 3 Series, new BMW M5 Competition, new BMW 530i Sport and new BMW X1. The new BMW 3 Series won in the Premium Car category at the prestigious ICOTY (Indian Car of the Year) 2020 awards. The news of the BMW India boss’ demise follows another major loss faced by the company earlier this month. BMW Group India's Sales Director Mihir Dayal (40) had passed away on April 7 following a long battle with cancer.
