Car booked for Hyderabad, arrives in Ranchi

A Karnal lawyer has registered an FIR against the proprietor of a Delhi-based logistics firm for wrongly transporting the family car to Ranchi instead of Hyderabad.

Jagmal Singh, a criminal lawyer at the Karnal Civil Court, has a son working in a private company in Gurugram who has been recently transferred to Hyderabad, and hence had, a month ago, booked the car for transportation there by a Delhi-based company named Car Move Cheepers.

"We paid the company Rs 11,000 as the transportation fee. When our car did not reach Hyderabad, I enquired with the company and its proprietor named Govind informed me that the car had arrived in Ranchi. He also demanded Rs 25,575 extra to hire another logistics company to transport the vehicle from Ranchi to Hyderabad," Singh said.

He said that it was the fault of the logistics company.

"Despite that, the company brazenly asked me to pay another Rs 25,575 which is unacceptable. Moreover, when I tried to meet with Govind and resolve the issue, he refused. Hence, I have moved an application at the Palam Vihar police station to register an FIR against accused," he added.

When contacted, Udyog Vihar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bir Singh said: "The FIR has been registered on the basis of documents and online payments in the concerned police station and the company proprietor was asked to join the probe. We will take action accordingly."
